This year we’ll be participating in the global Anglican prayer movement Thy Kingdom Come, a prayer journey from Thursday 13 to Sunday 23 May – from the Feast of the Ascension to the Feast of Pentecost.

We’ll sharing activities and resources online every day, via this website and the Prescot Parish Church Facebook page. It will be a time for us to get closer to God together, as a town and a parish. Just visit us each day online or join in with the following live events:

  • Thursday 13 May 7.30pm Eucharist for the Feast of the Ascension – Take part on Facebook or book a place in person via Eventbrite*
  • Sunday 16 May 10am Eucharist for the Seventh Sunday of Easter – Take part on Facebook or book a place in person via Eventbrite*
  • Tuesday 18 May 4pm A Prescot Prayer Journey – Pick up your maps on Sunday, then meet us outside church on the day. All ages are welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (If you didn’t pick up a map at church, you can download one as a PDF here.)

Among the activities online, we’ll be learning how we can use religious icons in prayer, how we can draw close to God by meditating on Scripture – what Christians have historically called Lectio Divina – a special time of prayer and reflections with the Franciscans and a Pentecost video for children and familiies, featuring our deanery youth leader Rebecca.
