Meet the Clergy

The Reverend John Taylor is the Vicar of Prescot, having come to the town in 2004. He is as proud of his Wigan roots as we are of him.

The Reverend Kimberley Mannings is our curate. Formerly a secondary RE teacher, she trained in the Diocese of Liverpool and was ordained a deacon in 2018. She has two loves in her life – her husband, Stephen, and her greyhound, Philly.

The Reverend Captain Peter Cowley is a priest and a captain in the Church Army, an evangelistic organisation operating worldwide within the Anglican Communion. He is a fan of Prescot Cables and Everton, and his love of football has provided many a sermon illustration over the years.

The Reverend Jeff Engels is a retired priest, formerly the Vicar of Hale, and he regularly assists the other clergy in Prescot. We enjoy giving him a friendly wave as he whooshes down the church aisles and through Prescot on his scooter.
