As you stand facing the altar, look up. Above the chancel arch and rood screen are the eleven stained-glass lancet windows, and underneath the date 1610, which is gilded.
The armorial crests are on each side of the arch. The crest on the left is the Diocesan Crest of Liverpool. On the right is that of King’s College, Cambridge, who are patrons of the Parish of Prescot.
The rood screen was dedicated on St George’s day in 1921 and is a memorial to the fallen of World War I, whose names are listed on the front panels.
