An ancient market town, Prescot was once an important centre of trade and culture in West Lancashire. While Prescotians proudly celebrate their Lancastrian heritage, the town now sits in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, in Merseyside.

The magnificent Church of St Mary the Blessed Virgin dates to 1610, and it is Knowsley’s only Grade I listed building.

Organised tours in and around the 17th-century parish church of St Mary are conducted by our experienced and friendly guides.

Kid Activities available

Dogs welcome throughout the church. Water available.
