In December 2021 we were heartbroken to lose a faithful friend and servant of God, David Friar. He was dedicated and cheerful in his role as church warden in the parish, and he was known and loved much more widely in the town for his service as a councillor and former Mayor of Prescot.
The Reverend Kim, Vicar of Prescot, said that “anyone who ever speaks of Dave describes a man of joy, humour, and humility, who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Even when unwell, Dave’s encouragement of others and genuine care was astonishing.
“Dave loved his family, loved his church, loved his town, and loved his God- in whose eternally loving arms he now rests. We hold Dave’s family especially closely in our prayers at this devastating time. We love you, Dave, and will really, really miss you.”
Funeral Details
Dave’s funeral will take place in Prescot Parish Church (St Mary the Blessed Virgin) on Wednesday 12 January at 1.15pm.
