Thy Kingdom Come: 18-28 May

You are invited to join us for all or part of Thy Kingdom Come, a nine-day period of prayer between the feasts of Ascension and Pentecost.

  • Thursday 18 May
    • 7.30pm St Mary’s Sung Eucharist for the Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord – celebrating Jesus’ return to the right hand of the Father
  • Friday 19 May
    • 9am St Mary’s Morning Prayer – beginning the day together with God. If you have a smartphone, prepare by downloading the Daily Prayer app for Android or iOS; a prayer book can be provided if you prefer.
  • Saturday 20 May
    • 8pm St Mary’s Compline – drawing the day to a close with God. If you have a smartphone, prepare by downloading the Daily Prayer app for Android or iOS; a prayer book can be provided if you prefer.
  • Sunday 21 May
    • 9am St Mary’s Eucharist for the Seventh Sunday of Easter (said service)
    • 10.30am Prescot & Whiston Methodist Church, Atherton Street Morning Worship for Aldersgate Sunday

    • Lectio Divina – prayerful meditation on Scripture (Facebook)
  • Tuesday 23 May
    • 5.30pm St Mary’s Scriptural Rosary – exploring Scripture using the tool of the Rosary prayers. You may wish to learn a little in advance at prayingwithjesus.co.uk.
  • Wednesday 24 May

    • 2pm Prayer Walk – a prayer journey around the town of Prescot, beginning at the Parish Church. Suitable for families and individuals of all ages (including dogs)!

    • 10am St Mary’s Sung Eucharist for the Feast of Pentecost – celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the first disciples
